Welcome to Bruin Learn

Bruin Learn is UCLA's new learning management system (LMS) built on the Canvas platform. Bruin Learn offers course management functions such as distributing materials and collecting assignments to adding external applications like Google Drive and Zoom.

This course site introduces faculty, TAs, and support staff to Bruin Learn features and functionalities that provide consistent, engaging, and equitable online student experiences. Each section, or module, will:

  • Introduce essential Bruin Learn topics or features
  • Describe or demonstrate how to use it, and
  • When relevant, provide pedagogical recommendations for its use

Checklists, self-paced tutorials, videos, or external links provide opportunities to explore each topic based on different interest levels or experiences.

Migrating from CCLE/Moodle

One significant difference moving from CCLE to Bruin Learn is content organization. CCLE structures content commonly by weeks, while Bruin Learn organizes content by Modules. Each module can contain files, discussions, assignments, quizzes, and other learning materials.

Faculty must review, copy, and publish the migrated content to the academic course site that syncs with UCLA's Registrar's Office.

Faculty with CCLE/Moodle courses from Spring 2019 - Spring 2021 will find copies of those courses in the Unpublished Courses section of the Bruin Learn Dashboard.
