Set a Grade Posting Policy
The default grade posting policy in Bruin Learn is to post grades automatically. This means that when an instructor enters a grade for an item in the course, the grade is automatically available to the student. Instructors can keep all grades hidden and post grades manually or manually post individual assignments only.
Set Manual Grade Posting Policy
To post all grades manually:
- Navigate to the Bruin Learn Gradebook by clicking on Grades in the Course Navigation.
- Click on the gear icon on the upper right-hand side of the page.
- This opens up Gradebook Settings. Click on the tab labeled Grade Posting Policy. Note the default option set to Automatically Post Grades.
- Select Manually Post Grades to keep all grades hidden until you decide to post them. Grades posted before changing the policy remain posted. Click the blue box marked Apply Settings to finish.
Set Manual Grade Posting Policy for Individual Assignments
Instructors can keep the automatic grade posting policy and manually post individual assignments. To set the grade posting policy on individual assignments:
- Navigate to the Bruin Learn Gradebook by clicking on Grades in the Course Navigation.
- Click on the more icon next to the grade item and select Grade Posting Policy.
- Select Manually under Post Grades in the window on the right side of the page.
