Logs

Overview

Another source of data in New Quizzes are the logs for each student's attempt, which can be found in the Moderate tab of the quiz builder. Logs capture quiz activity information that could help instructors investigate problems that a student may have in the quiz. Quiz logs are not intended to validate academic integrity or identify cheating for a quiz.

Logs capture the following information:

New Quizzes Log and its various elements
  1. The time and date a student began a quiz.
  2. Each event or action a student completed while taking a quiz (for example, choosing or writing an answer).
  3. Details about the event or action.
  4. The browser and operating system the student used during their attempt.
  5. Additional information for the event or action.
  6. The time the test was completed and how long the attempt took.

NOTE: The completion time on the log may differ from the time displayed on the Moderate page by a few seconds. The time shown on the Moderate page is more accurate and should be referenced when reviewing student attempts on timed quizzes.
