Regrading
The regrading tool in SpeedGrader allows instructors to change the correct answer or point value for a question.
Things to keep in mind with regrading feature in New Quizzes:
- Similar to Classic Quizzes, regrading only applies to completed submissions. If all students will be affected by a regrade, it is recommended that everyone submits their quiz before you regrade.
- Regrading is not available for Essay or File Upload questions. All other question types can be regraded automatically.

Finding the regrade function
CLASSIC QUIZZES
- Regrading option is found by editing a quiz question.
NEW QUIZZES
- Regrading option is found in the SpeedGrader, when reviewing any student's submission.
Question types that can be regraded
CLASSIC QUIZZES
- Quiz regrade only works with specific quiz question types: Multiple Choice, True/False, and Multiple Answer
NEW QUIZZES
- All question types, except Essay and File Upload, can be regraded.
Regrade alert
CLASSIC QUIZZES
- There is no message alerting instructors/graders that a question has been regraded.
NEW QUIZZES
- NEW Questions that have been regraded will include an alert and the previous score.
Practice
If you would like access to a sandbox course with demo quizzes and student submissions in order to view and test the New Quizzes regrading functionality, please send an email to bruinlearn-support@it.ucla.edu with the following message:
Please add me to the New Quizzes Sandbox with the Teacher role. My UID is [add your UID here].
Please allow up to 24 hours for processing. Once you are added, you will receive an email invitation with a link to join the sandbox.
